The Neon Pig in Oxford is one of the best burger restaurants in America. Also, you may stop in and select meat and seafood to cook at home on your own grill. They offer a delicious selection of desserts, jams and special seasonings too. If you decide to eat there, you may dine inside or outside but go early there might be a line - but it's worth the wait!

The Big Bad Restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch with a great menu. It was listed by Travel & Leisure as one of the top 10 "Best Breakfasts”.
Around The World. We were just there today and I like the biscuits and their house cured bacon. I also love the tomato gravy and the waitress also ask if you need a coffee to go. Wonderful experience.

One of the great treasures of Oxford MS are the different seasons, and sometimes our winters will look like an ice village for only about three days each year. This year it came in February and everyone is out making photos because it will disappear soon.

Whether it be on a cold day in February, a breezy day in March, or a delightful evening in May, there is no place better to enjoy NCAA/SEC baseball than Swayze Field at Ole Miss. This beautiful stadium was named for one of the winningest baseball coaches in the history of The University of Mississippi.

It was designed, not just for the quality of the field, but also for the enjoyment and comfort of the fans. The stadium has comfortable seating. However, you may enjoy watching the games from the Terrace Level behind the outfield. This area is complete with its own scoreboard, picnic tables, charcoal grills, and a grassy slope to relax on and enjoy the game.

This year the Rebels have a schedule of 56 total games, including 31 home games. Of course, there are great hopes of another return to Omaha for the NCAA College World Series. The fans of Ole Miss and the City of Oxford are very proud of the excellence of play by our Baseball Rebels!

Oxford is proud of its newly renovated and enlarged 262 acre University-Oxford Airport, and its new Rayner Terminal. In addition, it has a 5,600' x 100' lighted runway, with wind-direction indicator. Thus, it is capable of handling a variety of prop and small to mid-size jets. It also provides a destination for a seasonal regional airline. There is a temporary tower, which is only used on special occasions, such as SEC football weekends.

Although there are no landing fees, there are nominal daily ramp fees, based upon size of the aircraft. These fees are included when a higher "Special Event" fee is charged. Therefore, it is advisable to contact the airport in advance for any special needs, such as fuel, car rentals, limos, etc. On game days there is a free shuttle service to/from the stadium.

The University-Oxford Airport's heaviest day was during the first Presidential Debate of 2008, when Barrack Obama, John McCain, and many from the news media flew in and went to The Geraldine Ford Center for Performing Arts where the debate was held. CBS even broadcast their "Good Morning America" show from the Student Union at Ole Miss.

However, the airport has had its share of other celebrities come through its terminal for other reasons, especially on game weekends, including frequent visits by The Manning family, Fox News anchor Shep Smith, novelist John Grisham, and occasional visits by many other notables.
For more information regarding flying into The University-Oxford Airport go to the website, http://airport.olemiss.edu to learn about Services, FAQs, and more.

Louisiana Rub Down Cajun and Creole Restaurant opened approximately one year ago
by Mike Thompson. It is located on Hwy 30 just across from Stouts Carpet. The ribs and pulled pork are both delicious with a secret BBQ sauce. It is definitely worth the price and you will
be joining the other locals in Oxford for a return visit soon.

The Ole Miss Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host their Second Annual Breakfast at the Manning Center. This year's event will be held 8:00 a.m. on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14. The Breakfast will give attendees an opportunity to meet Ole Miss Head Football Coach Hugh Freeze and his wife, Jill, who are main speakers for the event. Coach Freeze has been a member of FCA going back to his playing days. As a coach for the past 19 years, he has been one of its strongest advocates and supporters. He has been a very successful coach, grounded on biblical principles. He has therefore instilled his faith upon his players from the high school level all the way to the NCAA FBS. Coach Freeze was the winner of the 2013 Grant Teaff FCA Coach of the Year. The Master of Ceremony will be Ken Smith, a former chaplain for legendary Florida State coach Bobby Bowden. He was also inducted into FCA's Hall of Champions and a longtime mentor of Coach Freeze.

This year's Breakfast is Sponsored by Craddock Oil Company. For information about purchasing either a corporate or sponsor table for eight and for other details, please go online at www.olemisssfca.org or contact Todd Johnson at (662) 816-7929 or toddjohnson@fca.org.

The Home of the Ole Miss Rebels, and the Lady Rebels basketball teams was opened during the 1965-66 season. It was originally named "Rebel Coliseum". However, it was renamed in 1972 to "C. M. 'Tad' Smith Coliseum" in honor of this outstanding former Ole Miss athletic coach and athletic director.

The domed multi-purpose arena has a seating capacity of 8,867. However, it almost burst at the seams, when in 2007 a total of 9,452 fans watched Ole Miss beat the nationally ranked "Crimson Tide" of the University of Alabama. One only has to wonder how these almost 600 excited fans managed to squeeze into the coliseum to cheer their team on to victory. This will be the last year for The Rebels to play Tad Smith Coliseum. In January of 2016, a new facility will be completed and the players and fans will enjoy a new state-of-the-art arena called, "The Pavilion at Ole Miss". In addition to its estimated 9,500 seating capacity, a new parking garage will also be added for the parking needs for this new addition to the campus.
