I called Dona because of the reviews I found on this site but she was not a perfect match for us. Dona is personable, she was on-time for showings, and showed patience with our many viewings. I believe if you want to buy or sell in Diamondhead she may be helpful but I do not recommend her if you are looking elsewhere.
Dona sold our house in Bay St Louis and then we bought one in Pass Christian. We also had a rental property listed with her in Diamondhead but took it off the market after we got a renter and where frustrated with interested buyers who where not pre-approved.
Our first property sold in 8 days for asking price (3 separate offers). I have always wondered if we asked too low but who knows. The buyer was a little difficult to work with and Dona often complained about the other realtor but we never felt like she had our back. The buyer asked for numerous repairs to the house such as "replace a few shingles, change the fence" which we thought where purely cosmetic and not required. There where many other problems but those are just examples. The thing that upset me the most was the buyers realtor and the buyer meet at my house without my consent. I know this because I happened to go home sick that day and was in bed when I heard someone walk in to my house. I panicked at first but realized who it was based on their conversation. I got dressed and walked into my dining room to find them sitting there! Apparently Dona said it was ok but never called me.
The next property we bought in a different town. I must state we where difficult clients at first because we where undecided about we excatly wanted. Dona showed us numerous homes and allowed us time to figure out what we really liked. However, once we did figure this out we became very specific about our wants. She was not familiar with the school district lines and I asked repeatably for this information, however when we would ask about a house she would say "I think it is in the right district." I finally took some time off during the day and went to the school office. Perhaps my expectations where too high. I was hoping for someone to help us with things like school districts etc. not just show us houses.
We did finally find a perfect house, she did not help us with negotiating, did not tell us that the termite inspection had come back positive for previous treatment (even though the disclosure did not state this) until closing (the sellers did get/have a contract on house but it would have been nice to know before closing day).
