Our area's beloved Canton Christmas Festival is just a few weeks away! Bring your family out for a time of Christmas lights, carriage rides and shopping. Dates are from November 29 - December 23. Get in the Holiday spirit in Canton, MS!

Beginning November 23 and going through December 23rd, tour Canton, the City of Lights! Whether on a horse and buggy ride or train or truck, you and your family will love getting into the magic of the Christmas Season in Canton!

Do you love going to the local flea markets? There's so much to look at and choose from and often you can find some really great goodies! The Canton Flea Market comes to town twice a year and it just happens that one of those times was yesterday, October 12! Make plans to attend the next one if you missed it! Hope to see you there!

Be sure to check out Canton's Third Thursday on August 18th! There is going to be live music, a dog costume contest, and tons of shopping! Willie Morris, the author of "My Dog Skip" will be honored at this Third Thursday! Visitors will be able to tour the My Dog Skip Museum, watch a movie on the square, and get up close and personal with Sparky the dog from the Canton Fire Department. It's going to be a blast! It goes from 5:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m.tonight! Don't miss it!

The annual championship hot air balloon fest features balloon races, balloon glows, fireworks, food and entertainment. This is a phenomenal fundraiser for the Good Samaritan Center and it's free to just walk around and see the awesome and colorful hot air balloons! The event starts Thursday so go to the link below for the schedule of events!

This great festival will feature more than 100 craft beers, wine tastings, and cocktails from local restaurants, and live music! Ages 21 and up are welcome to join the fun Saturday, June 18, at 4:00 p.m. The cost of a ticket is $25. Don't miss it.

This bi-annual shopping extravaganza includes goods from artists and crafters with various vendors of all kinds. The fun will start at 8 a.m., Thursday, May 12, until 5 p.m. on the historic Canton Square.

Join the beautiful city of Canton for the Holiday Hustle 5k this Thursday, December 17, at 6:30 p.m.. Racers will be able to enjoy festive Christmas music and the Canton lights during their race route. Come out to the historic Canton square for delicious cider offered by the participating merchants on the square! This is absolutely free with purchases of your own desire. Come out this Friday, December 11, starting at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.!

Just in time for back to school! Clean out those closets and make some money for your gently used items that you or your child just can't use anymore! This is a huge bi-annual resale event featuring gently used baby, kid, teen, women and men items from all fashionable name brands including furniture and home decor. Consignors earn 65% on their items with a potential to earn up to 80%! Come out to the Madison County Multipurpose & Equine Center Thursday, August 13th, 4:00-7:30 p.m.; Friday, August 14th, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday, August 15th, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

The 30th annual event is a fundraiser for the Good Samaritan Center. The Celebrate America Balloon Glow is July 3 at Northpark Mall. The Canton Balloon Glow is July 4, 4 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Canton Multipurpose Center. Dozens of colorful hot air balloons will lead a fun filled weekend for children and adults of all ages. This four-day event will include competitive balloon races, two spectacular balloon glows, two incredible firework displays, a Run/Walk with hot air balloons, children's activities, great food and great entertainment. The event is in honor of Armed Forces Day. Includes music from the Madison Station Elementary Fifth Grade Honor Choir, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and the Full Circle Party Band. Come out Saturday, May 16, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the Historic Canton Square. Cost is $5, children under ten and military members free! Enjoy the evening!

Now is a great time to start your hiking adventures! The Natchez Trace is a great setting in the metro and surrounding areas for hiking. With a trail that goes around cypress swamp, this area is said to be well kept by many locals. The trek is a short there and back which runs along the Natchez Trace Scenic with a short loop of a nature trail. You'll enjoy the beautiful greenery, wildlife, and hilly woods if you love hiking!
