Shrimp lovers? You're in for a serious treat! Try the shrimp tacos, blackened or fried with freshly breaded onion rings; it's a game-changer!

rooftop bar and grill that directly overlooks the giraffe exhibit and Hardy Street! The rooftop bar

course, perfect for all ages, not to mention being able to see the rooftop bar and grill when you
reach the top! Feeling hungry again? No worries. Directly next to the obstacle course, yep,
you probably guessed it, lies an exceptional third grab-and-go cantina/brewery with all the cold
beverages, sweet treats, and ballpark favorites that will satisfy all ages!

It's coming again.... the amazing Hot Air Balloon Festival in Hattiesburg! Located at Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center from September 22 - September 24, 2023, this festival will have music, vendors, food trucks, rides, art, and of course... hot air balloons! The RE/MAX balloon flew at last year's festival, along with others, and it was a beautiful event. Rise is putting on this event for the community, they are a non-profit that serves Hattiesburg, and I am so thankful that they decided to start this event last year; it is one of my favorites!

This September, another fun event will be in Walthal Park in Downtown Hattiesburg. Live music, food trucks, and craft beer will all be included in the ticket prices! If you don't want alcohol, you can get a "bites only" ticket. Ages 15 and up must have a ticket to enter. Downtown Hattiesburg does the best job of putting on events for the community, and this is just one of many that are held throughout the year. This Brews & Bites event is on September 9th, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. Get Downtown, Hattiesburg!

From May 30th to June 3rd, The Hub City Players will be putting on Disney's "Beauty and the Beast"! This musical will be absolutely fantastic for your entire family to enjoy. The play will be put on at The University of Southern Mississippi's Mannoni Performing Arts Center. Tickets are on sale for all six shows, exclusively at festivalsouth.org. If you are looking for something to do with the family, this is a perfect choice.

Hattiesburg is hosting a disposal day for documents and unused and expired medications. This event will be held on April 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Winn Dixie parking lot. Bring your residential documents, and be sure not to bring any liquid medications. Thank you to Hattiesburg for providing days like this for the local community.

Hubfest is a Hattiesburg Art and Music Festival that happens every year, and this year it is scheduled for March 25th, 2023! The music lineup was just released, and it is going to be an amazing, music-filled day! There will be two main stage acts that include Ella Langley Music and Kameron Marlowe. Along with those two artists, there will be local talent performing. Don't forget to mark your calendars for this year's Hubfest!

A new restaurant has just opened in Downtown Hattiesburg. Located at 206 W. Front Street, Bourbon on Front is now up and running. This new restaurant is serving up steaks, seafood, and cocktails. There is an outdoor patio that is perfect for beautiful days and eating outside. Steak night is every Tuesday night. Who doesn't love crawfish? I know we do here in South Mississippi! Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood and Southern Beverage are hosting a downtown crawfish jam/music festival on April 15th. This is a family-friendly event and will have live music, beer, crawfish, and other food as well! The fun will start at 11:00 that day. It is located in Walthall Park. Downtown Hattiesburg is filled with events and fun almost every weekend. You will never be bored there!

If you're looking to move to the Downtown Hattiesburg area, you will never be bored. There are constant events and festivals, and the Hattiesburg Zoo is a fabulous attraction. They have recently announced a Sensory Day that will occur on April 2, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On this day, the zoo will have the music turned off, quiet train rides, calm animal encounters, and other sensory activities. What a great event in Hattiesburg!

On April 1st in Downtown Hattiesburg, the 11th Annual Hattiesburg Half Marathon is officially happening. You can register online, and there are 10K and 5K routes available. The race has been voted Mississippi's best half marathon in the past and is a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations around the Hattiesburg area. If you're a runner, this half marathon is one you can't miss!

HubFest is a Hattiesburg Art and Music Festival that happens every year, typically in March. The dates were just announced for 2023 - mark your calendars for March 25th, 2023! Vendor applications for craft and food vendors are open. If you would like to be a vendor at HubFest, apply at www.hubfestms.com! The HubFest event is held in downtown Hattiesburg and, in the past, has featured four stages with music and over 250 vendors. The event is free to the public. Come on out and enjoy this great festival!

Let's hear it for woman-owned businesses! Blush Salon is a downtown sweet spot for a fresh new cut or color, event makeup, and more. Sometimes, life isn't bad. You really just need a haircut.

On May 15, 2022, The Porter is having a summer kickoff. They will be serving beer and crawfish to kick off the summer. Need I say more? Celebrate the sweetness of the season while the Mississippi heat is still bearable!

I highly recommend you treat yourself to a drive around Downtown and Midtown Hattiesburg to view the murals on buildings and utility boxes. We took and afternoon to just drive around and find as many as we could. Always impressed with our local artist community.

I know we've all branched out since we were eating on the kids' meal, but can we all just own that it's tough to beat a good chicken tender? It's even tougher to beat the ones at Nellie's Chicken and Daquiris! Portions are big enough to share so bring a friend! But maybe order your own daiquiri.

Hattiesburgers and Blues might win the award for cleverest name in town. The atmosphere is fun and light, and if you play your cards right, you can enjoy some live music while you enjoy a burger and your choice of cocktail.

The Hattiesburg Zoo is the perfect place to spend the day with the family! Where else are there sloths, a splash pad, giraffes, great food and train rides? No where I know of!
