We recently visited Landrum's Homestead & Village for a field trip with my daughter's school. It was so much fun exploring the place. The village is full of homes and buildings that you would have seen in the 1900's. There was homemade buttermilk biscuits, mining, a carriage ride, and more. We also had really good food for lunch. In the gift shop, there were plenty of nice gifts available. In fact, I bought some goat milk that smells amazing and leaves my skin soft. If you need somewhere to take your family, this is the place!

Downstairs, you'll find the latest trends in furniture and decor, plus wonderfully unique artisanal products (i.e. pottery, paintings, etc.). Laurel celebrated it's annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Pinehurst Park on December 4th. Friends and neighbors, once again, gathered to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season as they sipped on hot chocolate and apple cider. The Laurel High School Choir delighted the crowd with Christmas Carols and Laurel Ballet Academy danced beautifully to welcome in the Christmas spirit!

Did you know that Laurel is the home to the oldest art museum in Mississippi? The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art opened in 1923 as a tribute to Lauren Eastman Rogers. It's located in Laurel's beautiful, tree lined historical district.

Wow! Laurel made history this year 2015, as we initiated our 1st Annual Mardi Gras parade. There was an overwhelming response full of fun and excitement as area businesses and individuals participated with decorated floats and vehicles. Beads were thrown and Mardi Gras music adorned the streets of the beautiful, historic downtown streets. Join us for this fun event in January!

Come celebrate Laurel's heritage as a Sawmill town on the first Saturday in October. Our Annual Loblolly Festival is an exciting tradition with vendors, artists, entertainment and food. Located in Laurel's Business District on Main Street. There have been many renovations reflecting the character of the beautiful buildings downtown. We love our Historic Downtown Laurel!
